This fall we ventured down to Aggieland two times, once in September and again in October.  We saw the Aggies take on the Lobos from New Mexico on September 18 and were able to stay at a RV site at Olsen Field.  This was a great spot, within walking distance to Kyle Field and the MSC, and very easy to get setup.  We lucked out as the site next to us was unoccupied, so we ended up with a lot of space.  Olsen Field was also great because there was a lot of green space for the kids to run around and play.  Luke was constantly begging us to play football with him in the grass, tackle football at that.
We started the Aggie game in the North end zone, but we lasted less than 30 minutes in the sun and the late September heat.  We made the move to the South end zone and the shade of the giant video board where there were plenty of seats available.  Reese and the boys did well and lasted into the third quarter before we headed back to the camper and the A/C.  Reese tried her best to stay awake but ended up taking a good nap.  While the group rested in the camper, it was nice to see my former student Hunter and his new fiancé as well as my old buddy Adam and his son.  That evening, we were able to explore the campus and see how much it has changed since our last visit.  We headed back home on Sunday after we grabbed more Aggie gear at CC Creations.  As we passed the Aggie barn, I told the kids that it used to have WHOOP '05 painted on it.  It was depressing as we passed to see that the number painted on now is 20 years later.

We headed back down in late October to see the Gamecocks of South Carolina take on Aggies.  We left Reese with CC this time though as this was a night game and she wouldn't have made it long.  This time we were only able to get a spot in RV lot 58, which is close to the new Penberthy intramural fields.  It was much tighter this time than last and without the green space, but we made do.  It is right across the street from a fantastic new Brookshire Brothers grocery store though which came in handy.  Luke was still eager to play football even on the concrete.  Outside of going to the game, we had planned a small reunion of my buddies from the Corps.  We welcomed Ryan, Harry, Adam, and Chris and their families to tailgate with us on Saturday before the game and had a great time.  Outside of some rain early on and the humidity afterwards that came with it, the weather cooperated the rest of time and we look forward to coming back next year.
